Factors Affecting Postoperative Nursing Performance in the Surgical Units

Abstract
After the surgical procedure, the intraoperative care
team commonly provides the post anaesthesia care team with
a report of the processes that occurred during the surgical
procedure. The post anaesthesia nursing care team starts the
transition of care to the postsurgical nursing team who
typically cares for patients in surgical care units and prepares
patients for the transition to home.
Ideally the nurse, patient and family should have a chance
for education sessions prior to discharge; nurse can serve as a
source of information. Nurse should assess psychological
condition of patient. Nursing staff should be supported for caring
patients after surgery to ensure policies and protocols are
