Abstract


A thorough knowledge about the soils of Egypt is essential to improve the management and output of promising as
well as existing agricultural areas in Egypt.
Land evaluation provides

information and
recommendations for deciding" which crops to grow and where
to grow them" It involves the selection of the most suitable of land, cropping systems, irrigation and management practices that are physically and financially practicable and economically viable . The main product of land evalution investigations is a classification that indicates land suitability for specific kinds and types of use. The concept of "land utilization type" is a key concept for understanding land use in agriculture . It includes many broad categories and their sub-divisions as well as the levels of management which exist within certain defined types of land use.
El-Hasainiya plain is located in the northern part of the Nile Delta and is considered one of the main promising areas for agricultural expansion on both sides of EI-Salam canal , the present work has been undertaken to:
