Biography
Doaa Abdelrahman is a lecturer of law at Ain Shams University in Egypt. Recently, she obtained her PhD degree from Ain Shamas University in Egypt after visiting University of Dundee in UK for a year. Her PhD thesis titled “Civil Liability arising from Developing New Drugs: comparative study”, in which, she dealt with the process of drug development from legal perspectives in order to enhance the position of the Egyptian legal system while dealing with this process.
Based on her specialization in the public healthcare field of the legal studies, she is working on a series of academic papers which is published, presented or to be published. This series include:
1- Clinical trials? A way to promote the Egyptian system (published in Ain Shams University Law Journal and presented in a conference in the Newcastle University United Kingdom)
2- Insurance law in the clinical trials arena (presented in a conference in the UAE University, United Arab Emirates)
3- Intellectual property protection for the clinical trials data (presented in the WIPO-WTO 12th colloquium for the intellectual property teachers)
As a lecturer of law, she teaches different modules for the undergraduate students includes; introduction to the Egyptian legal system, introduction to the Anglo-American legal system, law of contract, comparative civil law, intellectual property law and principles of insurance law.
She is interested in doing research and providing lectures in the field of public healthcare, medico-legal and intellectual property law.
