Biography
Dr. Ahmed Eldein Hussin is an associate professor at Ain Shams University, Mechanical Power Engineering. His research activities are in the field of thermo-fluid engineering. Currently, he is a co-principal investigator in a joint research project between Ain Shams University and University of Northumbria, the UK, and funded by the British Council and Science & Technology Development Fund, (STDF), Egypt-UK Newton-Musharafa, (£77K). The ultimate objective of the project is to design and commercialize a novel small-scale low-cost Solar/Biomass Thermal Water Pumping system for irrigation and desalination sectors in Egypt. Also, Ahmed is a researcher in a joint research project “Development of a biochar system for optimal conversion of Egyptian agricultural waste to Energy”, between Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and funded by Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, (ASRT), (1 M L.E.).
Furthermore, he was a researcher in a joint research project, “Advanced high-efficient power-generation”, funded by Europe-Africa (ERAfrica) and Science and Technology Development Fund, (STDF), (€100K). aiming at enhancing the performance of micro gas turbines; using multi fuels such as hydrogen and biodiesel. Throughout these research projects, his responsibilities include performing laboratory experiment, providing technical expertise in the areas of thermo-fluid and co-supervising the research engineers working in these research projects.
