Biography
Hussein Kotb received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Electronics and Communications Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2002 and 2006 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada, in 2015. In September 2002, he was a Teaching Assistant with the Engineering Physics and Mathematics Department, Ain Shams University. In July 2003, he joined the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), Cairo, Egypt. From February 2008 to August 2010, Hussein was a Research Assistant with the Laboratory for Lasers and Optical Communications, Ain Shams University. His Ph.D. research focused on the implementation of femtosecond fiber lasers for biomedical applications. His current interest is the design and implementation of continuous wave and pulsed-mode fiber lasers for telecommunication and sensing applications. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Laboratory for Lasers and Optical Communications, Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt.
