Biography
HOSSAM E. ABD EL MUNIM received the B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1995 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Louisville, Louisville, KY, USA. In June 2002, he joined the Computer Vision and Image Processing Laboratory (CVIP Lab), University of Louisville, where he has been involved in the applications of image processing and computer vision for medical image analysis. He is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Computer and Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. His current research interests include image modeling, image segmentation, and deep learning, about which he
has authored or co-authored more than 85 technical articles, including ICIP, MICCAI, ICCV, CVPR, BMVC, DICTA, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON IMAGE PROCESSING, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON PATTERN ANALYSIS AND MACHINE INTELLIGENCE, and Journal of Real-Time Image Processing.
