Biography
Professor of Islamic Archaeology and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology, Ain Shams University, for postgraduate studies and research, and Supervisor of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector since 2020 until now. He also an expert at the (IFAO) French Institute of Oriental Archaeology (IFAO) in Cairo. In addition, to being an active member of the Institute d’Égypte since 2018, he also served as chairman of the National Library and Archives of Egypt from 1/4/2017 to 1/4/2018, and he was director general of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo between 9/15/2014 and 2/5/2017. He is a member of many associations and organizations, such as the General Union of Arab Archaeologists and the International Council of Museums ICOM. He has many papers and books in the field of Islamic archaeology and heritage preservation. He received the Academic Excellence Award for Young Arab Archaeologists for the year 2017. He participated as a member and trainer of the IFAO at the sites of the Cairo Walls from 2007 to 2014. He is currently the head of the French-Egyptian mission for the site of Qal'at Sheikh al-ʿArab Hammām in Qena
