Abstract
Violence toward nursmg staff is not only a clinical psychiatric problem, it is a serious occupational health concern. The occupational health perspective expands to focus from crisis management and medical model seclusions to proactive monitoring and violence prevention. In recent years, studies of violent behavior in psychiatric units have begun to focus on ways to help nursing staff, treat potentially violent patients, and educate them about aggression, providing support, and teaching specific methods of intervention were all essential to effectively coping with incidents of aggression. Nurses working in psychiatric units are in particular need for continuing training programs as well as support system.
