Measurement of Infiltrated CD4+/CDs+ Ratio and Cyclin Dl Level and Ploidy Status and S-phase Fraction in Colorectal Cancer Patients
Noha Ibrahim Mohamed;
Abstract
CRC, a malignant new growth that arises from the cells lining the colon or rectum, is the second common cause of cancer related deaths (Chen et aL,
2002; Longley et al., 2003) and third most common cancer in Western countries
(Jiang et al., 2001; Bahnassy et al., 2002).
In Egypt, CRC has its own characteristics that differ from those reported in other Western countries. It was found that 35.6% of the Egyptian CRC cases occur below 40 years of age, thus their immune response might act more
effectively. Usually, it presents with higher incidence and grade in males.
Moreover, advanced stage tumors carry more mutations (Soliman
Bahnassy eta/., 2002).
