Baseline-nitrate-trimetaZidine-Tc-99m sestamibi versus T1-201 rest-reinjection SPOCT for the assessment of myocardial viability

Hanan Hafez Hafez Zeidan;

Abstract

This prospective study was undertaken to valuate technetium 99m-nitrate-trimitazidine in detecting viable myocardial in patients with myocardial infarction and to compare their results with thallium •201 rest reinjection SPECT.

For this purpose 48 patient were studied, and we found that baseline nitrate Tc-99m sistamibi imaging was 90% sensitive 89% specific in identifYing viable myocardium with positive predictive value 94% and its negative predictive value was 82%. The predictive accuracy of this test was 90%.

Concerning baseline TMZ Tc-99m sistamibi imaging, its sensitivity was 90%, its specificity in identifYing viable myocardium was 89.61% with positive predictive value 94% and its negative predictive value was. 83%. The predictive accuracy of this test was90%.

Key words: rest-delayed redistribution, thallium imaging, reinjection, technetium 99-msestamibi,trimetazidine, nitrate.
