Riham Said Chamse EL Dine;

Abstract

CAD is one of the leading causes of death in the world and cornonary atherosclerosis is its main underlying etiology.

The list of preventable and reversible risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease continues to extend. Premature CAD is reported to occur with increasing frequency in the absence of traditional cardiovascular risk factors as hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and cigarette smoking.

The mm of this work is to study the possible role of some non traditional risk factors for premature CAD, and to assess the presence of potential interactions between these factors on one hand, and the traditional cardiovascular risk factors.

In order to achieve these goals, 45 subjects were evaluated and divided . into three groups, group I consisted of 15 CAD patients without traditional cardiovascular risk factors, group II consisted of 15 CAD patients with one or more traditional cardiovascular risk factors, and group III consisted of 15 healthy persons as control subjects.
