THE EFFECT OF SOME ENGINEERING FACTORS ON FLEXIBLE SPRINKLER IRRIGATION SYSTEMS PERFORMANCE

ENGY MOSLAME MOHAMED KHAIR;

Abstract

Egypt is in arid region due to decrease the rainfall under 400 mm/year. The new irrigation methods have more management in irrigation water with using sprinkler systems which used to decrease drainage, improve soil water contents, decrease ground water level and increase crop production.
The sprinkler irrigation system is lower efficient than the other pressurized systems, so it needs to develop its performance to increase its yield, not wasting for the water unite and improve the soil water contents.
• The tests were carried out at the National Irrigation Lab for on-farm Irrigation Equipment Test in Agricultural Engineering Research Institute AENRI Dokki- Giza in 2012-2013.
• The field experiment:
1. Were conducted in a farm on the desert road in Wadi El-Natrun range floppy system using the commentator on the cables at a 2m height over the surface of the earth has grown Alfalfa in 2014.
2. At Agricultural Engineering Research Institute. Dokki, Giza, in 2014.
