Abstract


Sharm El-Sheikh area is an important and unique environment wh ich has valuable resources that should be carefully maintained. I t is characterized by a diversity of natural resources such as coral reefs, mangroves, sandy beaches and many rare wildlife species, in addition to its clear skies and water. Thus i t becomes one of the most important touristic sites of the world.

The study area is concerned with the western coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, which includes the main three lagoons at Sharm El-Sheikh area. These lagoons are: Port Bay, Sharm El-Moya and Nama Bay. It lies between 34° 15' 53" to 34° 20' 38" E and 27° 50' to 27° 57' N . This area is threatened by numerous anthropogenic activities, global climate change and hence sea level rise beside sea water pollution as a result of human activities there.
