Abstract

This investigation was carried out to study the efect of afforestation with Acacia saligna shrubs on native plants species for different sites during different seasons of 1996 and 1997 years under the following factors:

1. Afforestation with Acacia saligna shrubs.
Two levels were chosen, i.e., under afforestation and
non afforestation as represent for the variation of the different edaphic factors which can dominate in Sidi-Branni in the North Western Coast, also, effect and affect of afforestation.

2. Location
Four sites were chosen as expression for both of edaphic and climatic factors, i.e. two sites are located at near the sea .
(1) The first site: this stie is located at 138 km West of
Mersa Matruh, then inside the North 3 km.
(2) The second site: this site is locatd 166 km West of Mersa Matruh, then inside the North 2k and also, two sites disnear the sea were chosen .
(3) The third site: is locatd 130 km West of Mersa
Matruh, then inside the South 8 km.
(4) The fourth site: is located 165 West of Mersa
Matruh, then inside the South 10 km.
Both were differ much mainly in amounts of rainfall and other climatic measurements and in the different soil types. The data obtaind was statistically analysed using the variance of randomized complete block design method with six replications within vegetation, (Seven replications within Acacia), four locations and two afforestation levels.
