Studies on chemical addition to water used in different Irrigation systems

Abstract


The current i lVestigation was carried out at Moderiat Al-Tahreer in 1993 season to study the effect of chemical addition to water used by three different irrigation systems (furrow, sprinkler and drip). On the potato production. The varity of potato was "Spunta". The studied soil texture was sandy. Three irrigation treatments were used under both •of the drip and sprinkler irrigation systems in this study.

Three amount of water applied were used under the drip irrigation system: 100%, 80% and 60% of the actual
. evapotranspiration. meanwhile, under the sprinkler irrigation system, three amount of water applied per plant during the growth season of potato crop. There were 122 , 142 and 162
L!plant, (According to Anton, 1991), Under surface irrigation, the water was applied when 50% of the available soil moisture content was depleted.

Moreover, two fertilization treatments were used in this study: the fertilizers were applied with irrigation water and with thetraditional method.
