Immunohistochemical expression of stem cell markers CD133 and Oct-4 in cases of endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma

Abstract
The present study was conducted to study the expression of stem cell markers CD133 and Oct4, and assess their expression in endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma.
The current study included 90 endometrial specimens, 30 cases of normal endometrium, 30 cases of endometrial hyperplasia, and 30 cases of endometrial carcinomas. The specimens were collected from the archive of pathology lab attached to the Unit of Early Cancer Detection, Maternity Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University starting from 2010 -2013 and as well as during the period of study.
All cases were subjected to the following:
- Demographic and clinical data:
The age, parity and other clinical data of the patients were collected from the hospital files.
- Histopathologic study: by reexamining the Hx&E
