Abstract


The present study aimed to investigate The Impact of a program based on the Learning methods of Kolb’s Theory in Improving Critical Thinking skills and Academic Achievement for students of the Education Faculty in Tripoli University. The current study has adopted the experimental method that relies on the experimental design with two groups : experimental and control , with the pre and post measurements so that we could know whether there have been differences among students in the level of critical thinking in its various skills before and after applying the program, and the improvement of the academic achievement . The study sample has been composed of (60) female and male students from the students of the second semester from the section of semester teacher and Kindergartens in the College of Education. For the tools of study, the researcher has adopted California test for critical thinking: image (a) and image (b) translation and localization by Mohamed Anwar Ibrahim Faraj (2006) and the proposed program prepared by the researcher.
The study has come up with the following results:
- There are significant differences between the two measurements pre and post experimental group in favor of the post measurement in critical thinking.
- There are significant differences between the scores of the experimental group in the two measurements pre and post to general achievement in favor of the post measurement.
-No statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the two measurements post and iterative on the California test of the skills of critical thinking.
