Application of locally Available Natural Material In Thermal Insulation

Abstract


This study was carried out with the aim of developing and
performance evaluation of new thermal insulation boards based on the
locally available rice straw. Experimental program was conducted to
manufacture of thermal insulation boards using rice straw and testing.
in order to investigate the thermal insulation boards from rice straw
and investigating the physical and mechanical properties of the produced
boards .also presents the description of test specimens, the green
composite from rice straw with cement mortar mixtures evaluated, test
setup , instrumentation and loading scheme. This study consists of
developing a treatment method of rice straw aiming to enhance its bond
with the surrounding mortar, manufacturing of thermal insulation boards
from rice straw and investigating the properties of the produced boards
such as density, compressive strength, flexure strength ,thermal
conductivity and fire resistance.
The analytical part of study consisted of results of data measured
for all specimens and boards which are tested in laboratory obtained from
the Egyptian codes such as: methods for determination of density of
