Abstract


Late blight disease is one of the most important economic diseases on the crops of tomato and potato in Egypt and worldwide, caused by Phytophthora infestans (Mont) de Bary, which results in significant losses in productivity and when it is suitable for proliferation and accordingly the aim of this study to find resistance genes associated with late blight disease.Furthermore, the tomato wild relatives play a vital rolein tomato breeding programs to identify agronomical traits.
This study led to the following points:
1- One hundred and sixty one late blight samples were collected from infected tomato and potato commercial fields and greenhouses. These samples were collected from different Egyptian governoratei.e. Bani swef, Beheira, Fayoum, Gharbia,Giza, Ismailiya, Kafrelsheikh, , Menoufya, Qalubiya and Sharkia through four growing seasons 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016.
