Abstract
The thesis is concluded that AFP, AFU, VEGF-A and ferritin are good markers for detection of HCC in cirrhotic and HCV patients. However AFU, VEGF-A and ferritin are superior to AFP. They can be helpful in detection of AFP negative HCC patients. Moreover, AFU can be considered as an early marker in detection of small sized tumor. The chronic liver disease patients (population at high risk) should be subjected to periodic examinations including the current used markers to detect HCC at an early stage since the late stages of HCC have no successful
