Clinical, Radiographic and Histological Evaluation of Allium Sativum Extract in Pulpotomy of Primary Molars: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Ghada Rezk Gomaa Rezk;

Abstract

Vital pulp therapy in pediatric dentistry has always been the topic of
debate. Different medicaments have been suggested in the dental literature to
be used as a pulp medicament.
The aim of the current study was to evaluate the potential success of
aqueous Allium Sativum extract and compare it to formocresol as a pulp
capping agent after pulpotomy of primary molars clinically, radiographically
and histologically.
The present study was divided into two parts. The first was a
randomized clinical trial to evaluate the effect of aqueous Allium Sativum
extract as a medicament in pupotomized primary molars in comparison to
formocresol clinically and radiographically and the second part was a
histological study to evaluate the effect of both materials histologically.
