The Analysis of Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio and Platelet-Lymphocyte Ratio in Guillain-Barre Syndrome as a Diagnostic and Prognostic Marker
Khloud Adel Mohammed Hassan Tohlob;
Abstract
he current study investigated the diagnostic and prognostic value of NLR and PLR in 61 patients with GBS that were diagnosed according to Brighton criteria and confirmed by electrophysiological study and CSF examination.
Sixty-one patients diagnosed with GBS recruited from neuropsychiatry department of Nasser Institute Hospital with inclusion and exclusion criteria aiming to eliminate factors that could affect the diagnosis or the prognosis of GBS and might alter the value of NLR and PLR. Complete demographic and clinical data were collected from all patients.
Electrophysiological study was done at admission for all patients to confirm the diagnosis and to classify them into AIDP, AMAN, AMSAN, mixed subtypes, and also done after 3 months follow up to observe any changes in NCS.
