Effect of different dentin substitute materials on fracture resistance of MOD, endodontically treated maxillary premolars. An in vitro study

Islam Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim;

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of Different dentin substitute materials resin modified glass ionomer (RMGI), bulk fill flowable composite, short fibers reinforced composite [SFRC] Overlying with Nanohybrid conventional composite and thermocycling on fracture resistance of MOD cavity of root canal treated maxillary premolars.
A total number of 80 upper premolar used in this study . The materials used in this study were one nanohybrid resin and three base materials were used in this study. The nanohybrid resin Filtek.250 XT (3M ESPE, USA). The base materials included bulk fill flowable composite (X-tra base), fiber-reinforced composite (EverX posterior) and resin modified glass ionomer (Fuji II LC).A total of 80 upper premolars were selected of nearly similar dimensions The measured dimensions varied with a maximum deviation of not more than 10% from the determined mean. The teeth were kept in distilled water until they were used.
