"The Degree of Monomer Conversion and Stainability of Different resinous Luting Agents Used for Ceramic Laminate Veneers”

Abstract

Colour stability of resinous materials used for ceramic veneers cementation is of prime importance for success of functional and esthetical veneer, ageing of resinous materials cause changes in colour which directly affects the long-term success of restoration.
Aim of study was to evaluate the degree of monomer conversion and stainability of three composite resinous agents that was used for cementation Emax CAD veneers.
Ceramic slices (IPS Emax CAD) was covering three different resinous materials, RelyX Veneer, filtek zxt350 flowable composite and preheatedfiltekzxt350composite at 68°C, that thenbeen pressed with glass slab and applying certain weight over them and then excess resin cement was removed and cure the specimens from the free surface of the mould for 30 sec according to the manufacturer instructions.
Sixty ceramic slices were used and subdivided into two groups according to the test applied ,and then these two groups were further subdivided to three subgroups each group according to the resinous material used.
Group (D) (n=5) Cement film were subjected to analysis by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscope. Uncured cement samples were also subjected to analysis. Both values were used in the equation below to obtain the degree of conversion.
