Abstract

This study focus on the evaluation the efficiency of traditional and nano materials in the consolidation and protection of archaeological Marble. Various tests have been conducted to choose the best of these materials in order to be used in the scientific applied study. The results of physical properties, compressive strength, color change for different consolidation materials used in the experimental study, revealed that the composite that consists of (paraloid B-72 + nano restore - 4%) is more effective in the consolidation of marble samples. Also, this study also aims to evaluate state of the marble and by using different investigation and analysis methods in order to identify the deterioration aspects of these objects and to present the appropriate conservation plan for the archaeological marble fountain in the Islamic art museum in Cairo.
