Behavior of Deep Beams using Different Concrete Grades
Noha Ahmed Metwally Ahmed;
Abstract
The prime objective of this thesis is to study the behavior of simply supported deep beam using different layers of varies concrete compressive strength in the same specimen when subjected to vertical concentrated load at top surface at mid-span. To achieve this aim, experimental and numerical studies were conducted to assess the effect induced from vertical concentrated load at the top surface at mid-span.
Five specimens were experimentally tested under gravity concentrated loads increasing up to failure. Two specimens have been provided with one-layer concrete 25 MPa and 50 MPa respectively while three specimens have been provided with different concrete grades.
