Abstract
MEMS Gyroscope has an increasing use in recent years as it is a central part of localization systems. Varying drift is considered one of the major MEMS gyroscope error sources, as it limits the usage of the gyroscope to short periods only. So in the paper, we apply the continuous rotation modulation technique (CRMT) to the ADIS16334 MEMS gyroscope to reduce the drift of the sensor. The experimental results prove that the application of CRMT has yielded a significant enhancement of the sensors' roll and pitch angle drift by 37x and 8x, respectively. This performance enhancement enables the dependence on the sensor for an extended period.
