Abstract

The scarcity of fresh water quantities in many parts of the world imposes the need for efficient use of the available resources. Pollution of water resources represents a great hazard which sometimes creates a situation where the loss in quantity is of less harm than the effect of contamination. To get simple means to measure and predict water quality parameters along a water course, the reach of the River Nile from Esna to Naga-Hammadi Barrages downstream Aswan was chosen for data collection. The Iso-Line technique as well as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were utilized to analyze the data in order to detect water quality.
