RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

 Isolation and identification of different classes of natural compounds (saponins, sterols, terpenoids, essential oils, alkaloids, phloroglucinol derivatives, chromones, ellagitannins, gallotannins, phenolics, and flavonoids) of promising biological activity from herbal medicines and microbial organisms employing the different methods of chromatographic analysis (TLC, CC, HPLC, chromatotron, GC.. etc)

 Determination of the biological activity of the extracts and isolated compounds obtained from herbal medicines and microbial organisms employing in-vitro and in-vivo models: Gastroprotective, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective anti-tumor, cytotoxic, anti-lipidemic, anti-diabetic, acetylcholinesterase inhibition, anti-bacterial biofilm, antimicrobial, molluscicidal and antioxidant activities following bioactivity directed fractionation of extracts.

 Structural elucidation of different classes of natural products using different techniques (LC-PDA-ESI/MS/MS, GC/MS, UV, 1D and 2D-NMR, High resolution MS, IR, …etc).

 Analytical and preparative scale purification techniques using HPLC.

 Standardization and quality control of herbal medicines using chemometric analysis.
