Biography
Hayam Wahba is a Professor of Finance and Investment at ASU’s Faculty of Business, where she served as Vice Dean from 2018 to 2025 and currently leads the Permanent Committee for Postgraduate Studies at Ain Shams University. She was nominated to become the Dean of the Faculty of Business. Her research in corporate finance, capital markets, and governance has received over 1,550+ citations (h-index 14).
Nationally, Prof. Wahba serves on the Supreme Council of Universities’ Permanent Promotions Committee (2022–2028) and the Foreign Degree Equivalency Committee, and she is a NAQAA-certified reviewer. She is a board member of the ASU National University Steering Committee (Ahlyea) and an External Expert Board Member of the BUE Faculty of Business Council. She is a non-executive board member for the Holding Company for Roads and Bridges (Ministry of Transportation).
Her international network, comprising coordinator and teaching roles, includes universities such as the University of Chicago, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Poitiers, Kean University, the University of Exeter, and Maastricht University, as well as institutions like the European Investment Bank and the CFA Institute. She is the founder and executive editor of the Future Business Journal and serves on other prestigious editorial boards.
She contributes to national initiatives including Youth for Development, Digital Egypt Builders, and the GRACE Anti-Corruption Project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, the Financial Regulatory Authority, and the Egyptian Exchange. As a mentor, she led Ain Shams University teams to four consecutive national championships in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. Her leadership excellence earned the Director’s Award (ASU, 2018) for achieving first place among all university centers, followed by honors from the Syndicate of Commerce (2021) and the Ministry of Planning (2023) for contributions to youth and national development.
