Biography
Professor Dr. Ayman F. Abou-Hadid, Emeritus professor, faculty of Agriculture, professor, Arid Lands Agricultural studies and Research Institute, Ain Shams university
He started his career after graduation from Cairo University, faculty of Agriculture working as assistant researcher in the National Research Center. After being granted the Ph.D. degree, he was appointed as lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the faculty of agriculture, Ain Shams University. His career continued ever since as associate professor, then full professor and head of Horticulture Department, then Emeritus Professor at Ain Shams University till the moment.
Throughout his academic career, Professor Abou-Hadid has been seconded to several other National Duties including being appointed as Minister of Agriculture in four Cabinets, President of the Agricultural Research Center, chairman of the Egyptian Union of Producers and Exporters of Horticultural Crops, and Executive President of the Egyptian Environmental Affair Agency. He also established three new Institutes, namely, The Arid Land institute in the faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, the Central Laboratory for Agricultural Climate in the Agricultural Research Center, and Climate Change information Center and Renewable Energy in the Ministry of Agriculture. On the international level, he was elected as the chairman of the commission protected cultivation of the International Society for Horticulture Sciences (ISHS) for two terms from 1998 to 2006. He is the chairman of the national committee for biodiversity and natural resources of the National Academy of Science and Technology, Egypt.
Professor Abou-Hadid has also Established International Master’s Degree between Milan University and Ain Shams University (2006). He was the Rapporteur of Egyptian Agricultural Research and Development Council 2007-2011, Rapporteur and Member of Higher Committee for Climate Change in Agricultural sector since 2007, Chairman of Executive Committee of Climate Change in the Agricultural Sector since 2007, and chair of the National Committee for Nature Conservation and natural resources in the Academy of Scientific research and Technology (2019) . Professor Abou-Hadid has obtained several Academic Honors, Grants and Awards including Medal of Science and Arts First grade- from president of Egypt- April 2013, National Recognition Award for Agricultural Sciences, from Egyptian Academy for Scientific Research and Technology, 2009, and FAO Silver Medal twice in occasion of World Food Day celebration and honor contributors to the nutritional and social development in September 2007 and FAO Silver Medal, World Food Day "Water for Life" in 1994.

بدأ حياته المهنية بعد التخرج من جامعة القاهرة ، كلية الزراعة ، وعمل باحثًا مساعدًا في المركز القومي للبحوث. وبعد حصوله على الدكتوراه تم تعيينه محاضرًا (أستاذًا مساعدًا) في كلية الزراعة ، جامعة عين شمس. استمر في حياته المهنية كأستاذ مشارك ، ثم أستاذاً كاملاً ورئيساً لقسم البساتين ، ثم أستاذاً متفرغاً في جامعة عين شمس حتى اللحظة.
طوال حياته الأكاديمية ، تم إعارة الأستاذ أبو حديد إلى العديد من الواجبات الوطنية الأخرى بما في ذلك تعيينه وزيراً للزراعة في أربع حكومات ، ورئيسا لمركز البحوث الزراعية ، ورئيس الاتحاد المصري لمنتجي ومصدري الحاصلات البستانية ، و الرئيس التنفيذي لجهاز شؤن البيئة. كما أنشأ ثلاثة معاهد جديدة ، وهي معهد المناطق القاحلة في كلية الزراعة ، جامعة عين شمس ، والمعمل المركزي للمناخ الزراعي في مركز البحوث الزراعية ، ومركز معلومات التغيرات المناخية والطاقة المتجددة في وزارة الزراعة. على المستوى الدولي ، تم انتخابه رئيسًا للجنة الزراعة المحمية التابعة للجمعية الدولية لعلوم البساتين (ISHS) لفترتين من 1998 إلى 2006. ابوحديد انتخب رئيسا للجنة القومية للتنوع الحيوي و الموارد الطبيعية باكاديمية البحث العلمي و التكنولوجيا المصرية.
اسس البروفيسور أبو حديد أيضًا درجة الماجستير الدولية المشتركة بين جامعة ميلانو وجامعة عين شمس (2006). وشغل منصب مقرر مجلس البحوث والتنمية الزراعية المصري 2007-2011 ، ومقرر وعضو اللجنة العليا لتغير المناخ في القطاع الزراعي منذ عام 2007 ، ورئيس اللجنة التنفيذية لتغير المناخ في القطاع الزراعي منذ عام 2007 ، و رئيس اللجنة القومية لصون الطبيعة و الموارد الطبيعية باكاديمية البحث العلمي و التكنولوجيا. وقد حصل البروفيسور أبو حديد على العديد من الجوائز الأكاديمية بما في ذلك وسام العلوم والفنون من الدرجة الأولى في أبريل 2013 ، وجائزة الدولة التقديرية للعلوم الزراعية عام 2009 ، والميدالية الفضية لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة بمناسبة الاحتفال بيوم الغذاء العالمي لتكريم المساهمين في التنمية الغذائية والاجتماعية في سبتمبر 2007 والميدالية الفضية لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة ، يوم الأغذية العالمي "الماء من أجل الحياة" في عام 1994.
